An esteemed panel of powerful women entrepreneurs, industry executives, and government officials including the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion, discuss Canada’s biggest opportunity: supporting export-oriented women-led enterprises. Hosted by Catherine Clark, President of Catherine Clark Communications, this event will be live-streamed in front of a small studio audience and will be broadcast to thousands of entrepreneurs in more than 50 Startup Communities across Canada.
According to Government of Canada statistics, approximately 16 per cent of small and medium-sized enterprises are majority women-owned, and only 8 per cent of women-led small businesses sell globally.
By supporting women-led startups to incorporate global expansion into their plans from day one and reducing barriers to market entry, Canada can open significant and sustainable channels for economic growth. This panel explores the barriers small businesses, particularly those led by women and under-represented groups, face when pursuing global markets, how these barriers can be addressed quickly, and the roles that government, industry, and networks have in the success of a global entrepreneurship and trade diversification strategy.Register Now
